Assistant Production Manager
The Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager in delivering exceptional entertainment experiences onboard while ensuring the reliable operation of all lighting and video systems. This role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and creative execution of lighting, video, and entertainment technology across the vessel.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Production Manager in providing technical production services for shows, events, and enrichment activities.
- Operate and maintain all onboard lighting and video equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor entertainment systems and technical standards throughout the vessel.
- Conduct routine testing, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of lighting and video systems.
- Assist with event setup, strikes, rehearsals, production shows, lectures, parties, and special guest events.
- Create and execute lighting designs and programming for onboard entertainment.
- Train and support Entertainment Technicians on the operation and maintenance of entertainment systems.
- Manage lighting inventory and ensure proper handover of equipment.
- Collaborate with performers, guest entertainers, and enrichment staff to meet technical requirements.
- Support content creation initiatives by assisting with filming and broadcast-related activities when required.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience operating and maintaining professional lighting and video systems.
- Strong knowledge of lighting consoles, programming, and lighting design.
- Understanding of show control systems and timecode distribution.
- Proven troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance skills.
- Experience with equipment installation, connector termination, soldering, and technical repairs.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
- Previous entertainment, theater, cruise, or live event production experience preferred.
Language Requirements
- Fluent English (spoken and written) is required.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and crew members.
- Additional language skills are an asset.
